FUNERAL
GUIDE |
| HOME
ARRANGEMENTS |
Intended
for display in the home of the bereaved, home arrangements
are all-occasion floral designs. While the color
combination chosen may be bright and vibrant to
reflect the personality of the deceased, these arrangements
are more traditionally chosen in softer, or pastel
colors. |
| CASKET
COVERS |
These floral arrangements are usually ordered by
immediate family. They can be requested in a variety
of sizes. A full size spray covers the entire length
of the casket top. A half size arrangement covers
the closed portion of the casket lid for open casket
funerals. |
| SERVICE
ARRANGEMENTS |
This type of arrangement is usually chosen to complement
the design chosen for the casket cover. The style,
flowers, and color themes are chosen to be similar,
creating an overall floral theme. |
| LID
ARRANGEMENTS |
Lid arrangements are traditionally chosen by family
to represent younger children or grandchildren of
the deceased. These arrangements may be small floral
bouquets, or may be composed of satiny cushions
adorned with a corsage or small bouquet. They may
also be requested in shapes, such as garlands or
rosaries. |
| FLORAL
BASKETS |
Floral baskets are generally sent to the bereaved
family's home when the sender did not personally
know the deceased. These baskets are all-occasion,
suitable also for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
|
| PLANTS |
Live plants are appropriate to be sent to private
homes, offices, and for funeral services. They can
convey that, while we grieve, life continues. If
you'd like for the family to take the plant home,
inquire about this possibility at the funeral home,
in advance. |
| WREATHS |
These arrangements are built upon a circular base.
The base is generally completely covered in flowers,
and is then suspended from a tripod. They may instead
be comprised of a natural wreath, such as grapevines,
or a satin-covered base, with fresh flowers added.
Wreaths are appropriate for funeral services because
a circle signifies eternal life. |
| CROSSES |
Very similar in construction to wreaths, cross arrangements
begin with a cross-shaped base which is covered
in flowers and suspended from a tripod. |
| SPRAYS
|
Floral sprays may be ordered in a wide range of
sizes and complexity. They are delivered to the
funeral home, and are supported on a tripod during
the services. The flowers in sprays generally fan
out from a center point. |
| FOR
CHILDREN |
|
Memorial arrangements for the young are much like
other available designs. They are usually smaller,
more compact, and are often made in pastel shades
of pink and lavender, or blue and white. |
